Showcasing over 20 of the scariest, spookiest, & just plain weird finalists of this year’s “Ghost Story/Spooky” animated short competition. Awards for the 5 best winners will be presented at the end of the screening.
Break in the middle of program for a screening of promotional trailer for the live-action/animated horror anthology “DRAWN & QUARTED” and for a free raffle to win Anime DVDs (courtesy of Virgin Entertainment)
4.00 pm Party afterward (4.00 pm 5.45 pm)
During the party, in the main theatre, sit down, relax and watch a compilation of the best of MYTOONS.COM. Mingle and network at our “GHOST STORY” after-screening party (in the theatre’s Spanish Patio). Our volunteers will help introduce you to both industry professionals and student animators alike. Pitch an idea, hand out showreels, discus the films. And don’t forget your business cards.

6.00 pm PROGRAM 3 “FANTASTIC PLANET”

Gala tribute screening of the animated classic "Fantastic Planet" (guests include LaLoux fan, Sean Lennon and from Paris, producer Florence Dauman).
World premiere of Florence Dauman's documentary portrait of "Fantastic Planet" director Rene LaLoux,and Sean Lennon's animated music promo homage, "Would I Be the One."
Original artwork from Sean Lennon and original promotional material from "Fantastic Planet" will be on display in the theatre lobby.
We are also honored to have as a guest from Paris, Henri Choukroun, who has kindly created a multi-media presentation of LaLoux’s original artwork, storyboards and paintings to be projected in the theatre during the after-party. These items and paintings will be auctioned in February 2008 in Paris salle Drouot by KAHN- DUMOUSSET Auctioneers. Anyone wishing to bid on any of the works at the auction can contact Henri through LAAF.

ASIFA-Hollywood is embarked on an ambitious project - building a library, museum and digital archive dedicated to the art of animation. This benefit program, titled "Treasures of the ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive" includes rare cartoons from artists you may not know, but whose cartoon characters you’ll definitely know and love. With special guests TBA.

The best of world animation in rock video’s as selected by the kind people of LAAF 2007. Many of the directors and animators involved will both introduce and answer questions after each video screening. Audience participation encouraged.
